A year-round lakefront retreat for those seeking peace and serenity in Nova Scotia.
The development is 125 acres of mostly old growth forest. Some selective cutting was done in 2005. The forest is a mix of maple, birch, oak, pine, fir and spruce. Fall colors are spectacular.
The land faces northwest for colorful sunsets. There are about a dozen older cottages on the north and west side of the lake. It is a quiet area with mostly kayaks, canoes and small fishing boats. The lake does not support large power boats.
Wildlife is abundant with deer, squirrels, rabbits, frogs, raccoons, black bear, owls, eagles, hummingbirds and numerous other species or birds.
The lake is brook fed and has a hard gravel/sand bottom. The shoreline provides easy access to the water and is great for swimming and fishing. The water temperature in summer is around 24 degrees Celsius. The lake freezes in winter for skating and hockey.
The night sky is great for stargazers and there is virtually no light pollution. It is known for the best night sky in the country.
